"This is the one I want. I've always wanted it. I've seen the original."
So wrote a friend of my grandparents' one Joan Brumfield in the late forties (Book published 1948). My father did a transcription of this wonderful painting for £50 if my memory serves me well. He used poster colour or gouache. I last saw it at the Brumfield's Farm in Cherry Burton Yorkshire, about forty five years ago. Where is it now?
